A contractor that measures first.
RidgeLine HVAC & Colorworks works on heating, cooling and ventilation for homes and commercial buildings from an office on West Holt Avenue in Pomona.
The order is the whole thing.
Diagnose, show, price, decide, do. It sounds obvious written down, and a surprising amount of the trade runs it the other way round — a part is fitted, the invoice explains it afterwards, and the customer never quite finds out what was wrong.
We do it in that order because it protects both sides. You are not asked to authorise money on a verbal description. We are not asked to justify a bill for something nobody saw. And when a job turns out to be more complicated than it looked from the driveway, the conversation happens before the work rather than after it.
It also makes us slower on the first visit than some. A diagnostic that involves measuring airflow, checking combustion and following a vent to its termination takes longer than swapping the part that usually fails. We think that is the right trade and we would rather say so up front than surprise you with it.

- Before any billable repair beginsYou see the number, itemised, with options where options exist. If the scope changes mid-job, work stops and we talk to you before it continues.
- Evidence
- Photographs of anything we say is wrongA cracked heat exchanger, a corroded connector, a crushed duct run — you see the picture before you see the quote, and you keep the picture.
- Measurement
- Readings before and afterAirflow, temperature split, refrigerant state, current draw, combustion. What we changed should show up as a different number, and if it does not, we have not finished.
- Venting
- Checked on every gas appliance we touchNot an upsell, not optional. It is the least visible and most consequential part of a heating system. We wrote a page about why.
- Honesty about limits
- Including when the answer is "not us"If a job needs a different trade, a specialist, or the gas utility rather than a contractor, we say so. Sending you elsewhere costs us one job and is still the right call.

Some contractors specialise in one and take the other when it comes. We run both on purpose, and the two make each other better.
What houses teach you
Houses are where you learn to work carefully in someone's space, to explain a technical problem to somebody who does not want a lecture, and to work in a closet with eighteen inches of clearance. Every one of those skills transfers directly to a tenant's occupied suite.
What buildings teach you
Commercial work is where the documentation discipline comes from: equipment registers, readings recorded per unit, quotes written to survive being forwarded to an owner. We apply the same record-keeping to a house, which is why a homeowner here gets paperwork they can actually use when they sell.
Why "Colorworks"?
It is in the name, so it is fair to ask. RidgeLine HVAC & Colorworks is a heating, air conditioning and ventilation contractor. That is the whole trade list: furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, condensers, packaged rooftop units, ductwork, ventilation, venting, controls and indoor air.
We do not paint, coat, refinish or decorate, and we would rather say that on the About page than have somebody book a visit expecting it.
Facts we have not put on this site
You will not find review counts, star ratings, staff biographies, a founding year, a job count or a licence number presented as fact anywhere on this website. Those all belong to the business and have to come from the business — putting invented versions on a contractor's site is a real problem, not a marketing shortcut.
Anything genuine that should be here — licence details, a real founding year, verified customer reviews — gets added when the business supplies it.

The office is on West Holt Avenue. From there most of the eastern San Gabriel Valley and the near end of the Inland Empire is a short run.
