Heating and cooling, done in the right order.

Diagnose first. Price it in writing. Then fix it. RidgeLine works on houses and on commercial buildings across Pomona, Claremont, San Dimas and the valley either side — and we check the venting while we are there, because that is the part nobody looks at.

Two tracks, one company

Houses and buildings are different jobs.

We do not treat a commercial call as a big house call, or a house call as a small commercial one. They need different scheduling, different access, different paperwork and a different conversation about money.

Residential

Your home, on your schedule

Single-family houses, condos, townhomes and small apartment buildings. Most of what we do is the unglamorous middle of the trade: a furnace that will not light, a condenser that trips, a system that cools the front of the house and gives up before the back bedroom, ductwork that was never balanced, a thermostat nobody has been able to program since it was fitted.

  • Arrival windows we tell you before you book, not after.
  • Shoe covers and drop cloths, every visit, without being asked.
  • Photographs of anything we say is wrong, before we touch it.
  • A plain answer to "repair or replace", with the reasoning shown.

Residential services

Commercial

Buildings that cannot simply close

Offices, retail units, restaurants, light industrial space, medical suites and the multi-tenant buildings along Holt and Garey. Rooftop packaged units, split systems serving individual tenancies, make-up air, mechanical rooms shared between suites. Work scheduled around trading hours, and around the fact that a shop with no cooling in August is a shop with no customers.

  • Early, late and weekend slots when the space has to stay open.
  • A written record per unit, so a property manager can hand it on.
  • Roof access, keys and escorts agreed before the van is loaded.
  • Quotes written so they survive being forwarded to an owner.

Commercial services

What we get called for

Six things that fill most of the week.

01

It stopped working

No heat, no cooling, a breaker that will not stay in, a unit short-cycling, ice on a line set. Diagnostics first, then a written price, then the repair.

02

Replacement

Furnaces, air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, packaged rooftop units. Sized on the building rather than on whatever was there before.

03

Maintenance

Seasonal service for a house, scheduled visits for a building. The point is finding the failure in April instead of meeting it in August.

04

Ducts and airflow

Leaking returns, crushed flex, rooms that never get their share. Measured, sealed, rebalanced — and re-measured afterwards.

05

Venting and combustion

Flues, connectors, shared vents and combustion air. Checked on every gas appliance we work on, not offered as an extra.

Why this matters

06

Controls and indoor air

Thermostats and zoning that people can actually operate, filtration sized to the system, and ventilation that brings in outside air on purpose.

How we price

You see the number before we start.

The sequence does not change, on a house or on a building. We diagnose, we show you what we found, we write down what the fix costs, and then you decide. Nothing billable beyond the diagnostic happens before that.

Where there is more than one sensible option — a repair that buys two seasons against a replacement that ends the conversation — you get both, with the reasoning, and we say which one we would choose and why.

What you will not find on this page

No prices, no "save up to" percentages and no payback periods. Equipment cost, refrigerant, access and what is behind the wall vary too much between one building on Holt Avenue and the next for a number on a website to be anything but a guess. Ask us and you get a real figure for your job.

The part nobody looks at

Venting and flues.

Every gas heating appliance has to get its combustion products out of the building and get fresh air in. In the housing stock around Pomona — a lot of it built long before the current equipment went in — that is where we find the problems that matter most: connectors that have rusted through, a B-vent pulled apart in an attic, a shared flue that was never re-sized when only one of the two appliances was replaced, a mechanical room whose combustion air opening was drywalled over during a tenant improvement.

None of it is visible from the thermostat. All of it is checked when we work on your system.

How a job runs

Four steps, and you decide at step three.

  1. Call or write

Tell us the building, the symptom and how urgent it is. We give you a real arrival window, not a whole day.

  2. We diagnose

Measurements, not guesses: airflow, refrigerant state, electrical, combustion and venting. You get photographs of anything we say is wrong.

  3. You get a price

In writing, itemised, with options where options exist. This is where you decide. Nothing beyond diagnostics is billed before you do.

  4. We do the work

Then we re-measure, show you the result, clean up, and leave the paperwork — including anything a landlord or property manager will need.

Where we work

Pomona and the valley on either side.

We are on West Holt Avenue, which puts most of the service area within a short run. If you are just outside it, call anyway — we will tell you straight away rather than take the booking and disappoint you.

Questions

Asked often enough to answer here.

Do you work on homes, commercial buildings, or both?

Both, and neither is a sideline. Roughly half our week is houses, condos and small apartment buildings; the other half is offices, retail units, light industrial space and the mechanical rooms that serve them. The two need different scheduling and different paperwork, so we run them as two tracks rather than one.

How quickly can you get to a no-heat or no-cooling call?

Call us and we will tell you a real window before you commit to anything. We do not promise a fixed number of hours on a web page, because the honest answer depends on the day, how many vans are already committed and where you are in the service area.

Will you tell me the price before you start work?

Yes. Diagnostics first, then a written price for the repair or the replacement, then your decision. We do not begin billable repair work on the strength of a verbal nod.

Why do you spend time on the flue and the venting?

Because it is the part of a gas heating system nobody looks at and the part where a fault has the worst consequences. A cracked connector, a disconnected B-vent, a shared flue that was re-sized when only one appliance was replaced, or a mechanical room that has lost its combustion air are all things we find in older buildings around Pomona. Checking the venting is part of the job, not an upsell.

Do you service equipment you did not install?

Yes, residential and commercial. We will tell you honestly when a unit is worth repairing and when repeated repairs are just paying for a replacement in instalments.

Can you take on a planned replacement rather than an emergency?

That is our preference and it is usually cheaper for you. Planned work means the equipment is chosen on load, not on what is in stock that afternoon, and the building is not without heating or cooling while it happens.

Tell us the building and the symptom.

House or commercial unit, urgent or planned — one call and you will know what happens next and roughly when.
